An intensive, intimate full-length manuscript incubator designed for our senior Fledglings. This is a special course uniquely tailored to each group of students based on the work they bring to the nest. Writers working on a long form book in any fiction genre or memoir are welcome.

Fully Fledged is a three-phase process mixing craft lessons, traditional workshopping, and prompt writing sessions.

Come equipped with first 30-50 pages of your project. We’ll spend 5 weeks working on short manuscript reviews and writing together, then 3 weeks learning and drafting, before we reconvene to workshop entire manuscripts (up to 250 pages). Along with 13 sessions, you’ll receive a writing log calendar during Phase Two to keep you accountable and a full individual manuscript review from Sammi and your peers.

  • Phase One, Five Short Manuscript Reviews - Every other week, Tuesdays May 12 - June 9 2025, 7 - 8:30 pm EST

  • Phase Two, Three Craft Lessons - Monthly June - August 2026*

  • Phase Three, Five Full Manuscript Reviews - Monthly September - January 2027*

• Time Commitment: 13 sessions (around 9 months)

• Features summer writing break log calendar, plus individual full manuscript reviews

• Capacity = 5 participants

• Cost: $17000, in three installments (due May, June, August)

  • $1600 for past Fledglings, $1500 for Flight Behavior alums

*scheduling determined as a group after roster is full, classes will either run weekday evenings 7-9pm or weekend mornings 10-noon EST
