Novel Incubator

Five 1.5 hour sessions begin May 2026, Three 2 hour sessions begin August 2026, Five 2 hour manuscript review sessions begin October 2026 | ONLINE through Zoom

An intensive, intimate full-length manuscript incubator designed for our senior Fledglings. This is a special course uniquely tailored to each group of students based on the work they bring to the nest. Writers working on a novel of any genre or memoir are welcome.

Fully Fledged is a three-phase process mixing craft lessons, traditional workshopping, and prompt writing sessions.

Phase One:

Come equipped with first 30-50 pages of your long form project (novel, memoir, screenplay) . We’ll spend 5 weeks working on short manuscript reviews and writing together in weekly 1.5 hour sessions.

Phase Two:

After we get to know each other’s work, we’ll spend the summer writing, meeting for 3 monthly 1.5 hour sessions to learn and draft in community. Prompts in these sessions will be custom prepared for the particular challenges of the group. You’ll receive a writing log calendar during Phase Two to keep you accountable, and help launch you into finishing the rest of your book.

Phase Three:

Reconvene to workshop entire manuscripts (or up to 250 pages) in monthly 2 hour sessions. Each writer will also receive in text notes and a two page letter of overall impressions from Sammi.
